Blog deletion going well, with (mostly) no regrets

I initially thought it would be difficult, both emotionally and literally, to be deleting all the found content from my blog after over 20+ years of it. But I’m pleasantly surprised to find it’s been relatively easy, both labor and psychologically.

Emotionally, it really was time. Back when this blog first began, there were no social media options at all (aside from having your own blog, website, or maybe a Yahoo Group). So sharing of pics was a very common thing, and it was next to impossible to be able to source many of them (it still can be tough even today). And honestly, back in the day, sourcing wasn’t even really much of a thought… at the time, it just felt important to not feel alone in your kinks.

Now with social media as king, as well as Just For Fans/Only Fans and the like, ownership is more important to everyone. I did alway try to find as many attributes as I could, particularly when I had an entire post from one person’s work. But an isolated pic without a watermark was virtually impossible to source. And over time, more and more people were complaining to me (rightfully so) that they weren’t sure how their pics ended up on my site, and sometimes asked me to remove them.

So I’m happy to be gradually working to make everyone feel more welcome by limiting myself to people who have given me explicit permission to post their work, and I give them credit back. It’s a bit more work on my end, but I’m happy to do it.

As I’ve been going through my older content, it’s been a pleasant to surprise to find that nearly 1/3 of my blog will still remain up, as it is either my own work (myself tied up and guys I’ve Domed), cyber play I did, reader submissions/people who already gave permission, and my own thoughts. I was frankly surprised how much of my own work makes up this blog.

Even more so, I’m running across so many worthy posts from the distant past. I’m going to be reposting many of them again (updating as needed). To do so, that means I had to temporarily take them down from the blog so I can prep them for reposting . So if you do notice maybe some of your favorite posts are missing (and it wasn’t found content), that could be why. They will be reposted in time.

Sadly, in an effort to delete such an enormous amount of work quickly, it’s inevitable that a few pics and posts will be deleted accidentally in the fray. So if you find some older posts with a lot of broken pics, that’s likely what happened. And I’m a bit sad about that, but it’s somewhat unavoidable. Also, a lot of things from the past where I quoted either YouTube videos or Twitter no longer load… but I’m going to just leave those up as they are from now as a matter of historical record–as well as being a bit too lazy to clean them all up, haha.

All in all, I feel so much better about this blog now. As I type this, I’ve deleted all found content up to 2020 so far. Again, I started this blog in 2005, so I’ve already deleted about 15 years of content. I found I can sort through about 6 months in about 1-2 hours, and I’m trying to do that once or twice every weekend until I’m caught up. So again, if you have more recent posts of found content you’ve enjoyed, save them now, because they could be gone in a few weeks.
