Finally, vacation week has arrived. It actually began with more work, but on an unrelated school note that was actually fairly simple. Then, Sam and I immediately drove off to the Central Coast of California, with no real specific agenda in mind (expect for a visit to Hearst Castle). Sam found a local hotel in Pismo Beach, which I had never been to before. We ended up visiting downtown San Luis Obispo for my first time (which I liked a great deal), Morro Bay & Rock (nice, but was expecting a bit more–but catching Sea Otters in the ocean was fun), Arroyo Grande (an unexpected Old Town section was charming), and Santa Barabara (am a bit disappointed by the corportratization of the area… I remember when it had more local, independant shops). Hearst Castle was great, and we got to do the evening tour, which I highly recommend. Both of us had been there before, but it had been a while, and it was nice to revisit it again.
Sam returns to work tomorrow, but I still have a few days off. So that’s nice!
As far as my work drama… it’s better without being better. Kinda hard to explain here, but while some relations are better, nothing’s really solved. Yet oddly enough, that fact has now somehow worked out to an advantage for me, more or less. It’s insanely complicated, but suffice to say that I hope it will not be as much of a problem in the near future. We’ll see how it goes.
