For a while, a national chain store called Kohl’s had brought back a vintage clothing line called Hang Ten. I got interested because of the label… the outline of two feet. Most of their designs were more surf/Hollister looking, but the feet were always on the label. After some internet searching, I ran across their website, and saw this shirt posted (the outlined one in the center):
However, the site is not really active anymore. Kohl’s is no longer carrying their brand (and if they ever carried the shirt above, I never saw it), and if you visit this site now, you find that you cannot actually buy the shirt. I even went so far as to email the site, requesting info about purchasing the shirt, but they said they no longer carry it.
Ever since, I’ve been semi-scouring the internet, trying to find this shirt. So far, nothing has come up. It’s getting to the point where I may try to copy the graphic personally and make my own shirt. Does anyone know where I could possibly find this item, preferably in an adult small?
On a related note, I recently became aware of this site that is selling Foot Pride shirts, with a similar rainbow colored scheme. I like these shirts too, but I personally am not crazy about the words “Foot Pride” plastered across the front. What I like about the Hang Ten Tee is that I could wear it out in mainstream public, and it’s more like my own personal in-joke. I’m not sure if I would wear a shirt screaming “Foot Pride” to my local mall (although I possibly would if the words were not there, something I’m going to suggest to the seller).
On a related note, today is when select Old Navy stores are selling gay pride shirts. I don’t usually go for this sort of thing, but this is quite cool. Even my BF and I may get some of these. Hope you do too. Ten percent of the proceeds go to the It Gets Better project. So go support!
