So first off, I have to thank all of you who responded to my post about helping my friend.  Some of you emailed me with truly incredible, moving stories.  And the comments were appreciated, too.  My friend is doing much better at the moment, I think in part to your stories.  I will certainly keep an eye on him, and give him my unconditional support.

Many people reminded and directed me to the It Gets Better site, which is another important one.  It sort of confirms something I was once told at work during a stressful time:  Now is not forever.  Meaning whatever you are going through, it will pass and be over with at some point.  And you will get through it.

Another reader mentioned that only months after an unsuccessful attempt at killing himself, one of his own friends committed suicide.  And he was shocked to see the impact it had on others, and how the lives of friends and family were affected.  The same reader said that no one should throw away their life permanently for temporary feelings.  I can’t agree more.  Thank you again to all of you who “bared your sole/soul” to me.

On a lighter note, I feel I guess I should defend the cuffs I used in the pics from a week or so ago.  A few of you eagle eyed and experienced kinksters rightfully identified them as, well, a super cheap kids pair. Which really shouldn’t be used for serious play, as they can break and jam.  To be honest, we rarely use them for actual play.  We sort of prefer comfort in our bondage, and cuffs for us are not always the most comfortable.  When we were in the mood for steel restraints, we use the manacles instead.

But I do keep that pair around for sentimental value.  As you may suspect, they were my first “real” bondage equipment I ever bought, aside from rope.  Still an impressionable teenager.  This was before being able to shop around the internet, and I was too young to visit an adult store (and probably would have been too scared too anyway).  I found those at a local toy store, and couldn’t resist.  I kinda knew they were cheap right away, but you know how it is when you have your first new toy.  For the record, I haven’t ever had a problem with them.  Still, I did get a report from a reader who did have them break on him, and he had to get outside assistance to get out.  So use with caution, or better still, get the real thing.

I was surprised to recently see my rating on Best Male Blogs blast me into the Top 12.  Now, this sort of thing changes quickly, so by now, I may or may not still be there.  (I was #4 at the time of this writing.)  In any case, voting for me certainly doesn’t hurt.  Preferably 4 or 5 stars, of course.  I mean, if you didn’t think it was worthy of that, why are you here in the first place?  😉  It’s quick and free.
That’s me at both #4 and #7!  Almost beating Gaydemon again.  Let’s do it!  Pic taken on 8/30/12.
Another surprise… my other blog, Captured Heroes, was at #7.  I’m guessing there aren’t too many blog authors who can say they have not one, but two Top 12 Blogs.  *pats self on back*  To be honest, this is the second time this has happened, and I’m still surprised.
But I do have to thank you guys, the readers and visitors.  It couldn’t have been done without you!

I’m still not quite used to the idea of the seeming popularity of this blog.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly flattering.  Just surprised how many people visit, and some of the amazing fan emails I get.

This was sort of confirmed from another source recently.  Every once in a while, I check on Alexa to see how my blog rates.  I was pretty surprised when I saw this about a week ago:

Holy cow.  In the top 1/2 million in the world?  For a gay kink fetish blog, which is sort of a niche market so to speak, I find that somewhat impressive.  Remember, that global rank includes sites such as Google, Amazon, YouTube, Disneyland, and every retail store and restaurant you can think of.  Better still, the US ranking.  And Canada, at #28,087.  And WTF is up with Vancouver, with me as their #1,700 visited site in the city?  There must be a lot of perverts there.  At least now I know where to begin my international tour, should there ever be one.

In any case… thanks, guys.  I knew it was getting harder to keep up with my email.  But in a way, that’s a good problem to have.

There is one, final announcement regarding a brand new blog from a friend of mine that I know you will enjoy.  I’ll break the news later today, so be sure to check back.  Gotta tease you a little bit.  But you won’t regret it.
