I’m always looking for new ways to get my socks and feet stinky. Quite a while ago, I ran across this tip from knobska (also captured below in case tweet isn’t visible).

I’ve tried this, and it does work pretty well! I haven’t worn it overnight, but I do occasionally wear them after work. One of the problems with that, though, is they’re pretty noisy to walk on. Plus, over time, the bags wear out, and aren’t really meant to fit feet all that well. So I ran across an alternative: silicone shoe covers.

You can get them in any color you want. I put on my smelly socks, then the shoe covers, then regular socks over that. Since you’re wearing them directly on your own feet, and not over shoes, order them to the size of your foot. It won’t be a perfect fit, but they’ll get the job done.

It’s not a perfect solution… the grips on the bottom make it difficult to put regular socks over. And while they definitely make the socks inside sweaty, the smell does have a tinge of silicone (think a hint of a rubber glove smell). It’s not dominant, but it’s there. So I don’t know if I’d rely on this method soley.

But if you’re looking for some sweaty socks quickly and quietly, this may be a good solution! If you try it, let me know how it works for you.
